    1. Had to look that up! No it was a crow or a raven, probably a crow. The bird was too big for a Turdus Merula/blackbird. From the amount of cawing in the vacinity, I would guess crow but was quiet for the moment it perched there so I don’t know for sure.

      1. I may be wrong. I don’t know much of anything about birds and I only saw this one for a few seconds. But the article I read said that crows and ravens are bigger than Turdus Merula and this bird seemed as big as the crows I see all the time! Besides at the time he/she perched on that limb, I was asking for a crow to come so I could take a photo for the Early Morning in my Sanctuary post! 🙂

    1. I saw the arms in the picture too. It even looks like a head with eyes, a nose and maybe even a mouth in-between the outreaching arms!

I didn’t see those things when I originally saw the bird, but they jumped out at me when I saw the photo.

  1. Oh my!! this is the photo I fell in love with on your post you added to Sunday Wrap. It inspired me to write a haiku but then it blossomed into a troiku. I will email it to you as I wait your permission to use your photo with it. You could frame this shot, Karuna, namaste x

    1. I just came back to the hotel room, in part to answer your other comment (that I had seen on the phone). Of course you can use the photo. You don’t need to ask, you can use anything of mine.

I was going to tell you to look at the big version before deciding what you wanted to use for the poem.

It just occurred to me that you might want to use the big version to write a story. Look at that picture again and look for arms and a face.

Oh I just got notice of your poem. I will go look!!!

I would love to hear from you!
