I Earned the India Badge!

Imagine my surprise when I received an email on my Android yesterday saying “Congratulations on earning your India badge!”  At the time I was in the Seattle airport ready to board a plane to Toronto, where I would be attending the last programs on Amma‘s North American summer tour.

What India badge?  The message made no sense to me and I couldn’t imagine what the badge was.  When I took a look, I discovered it was acknowledgment from Fitbit, makers of a device I wear that, among other things, counts the steps I take.  What a fun synchronicity that the badge would be about India, one of the places I consider to be Home!

  1. Hey Karuna,

Congratulations! This really is quite an achievement in itself 🙂

How long has it taken you to clock up those 1997 miles?

I think the fair Lady Synchronicity has taken quite a shine to you Karuna and your trip I imagine will become increasingly more delightful as the days roll by. Have a truly wonderful journey sparkling with enchantment and wonder an filled with kindness and Love.

    Take care. Namaste

      1. Hey Karuna,

I think it is measure of how far you are willing to keep walking in order to continually fulfil your intention 🙂

What is the counter currently displaying…how many miles since last autumn? 🙂

Curiously…my employer has only recently put in place a ‘Live Well Work Well’ initiative…a way of proactively addressing work/life balance issues…part of which included the receipt of pedometers. Having had mine for just a few weeks now, I can certainly understand their fascination and charm: I am always looking at my step counter and working out distances and route-ways here and there. It’s very addictive. Perhaps it is a little ironic that I’ve discovered more efficient paths and commuter routes to and from work reducing both my walking distance and journey time. Whether this is the intended use of a pedometer I cannot say, but I am rather happy to have returned 2.5 hours per week in saved time that was once given over to obligation and necessity. And in that I find a wonderful sense of balance 🙂

I think of Synchronicity as an occasion when heaven and earth move silently to bring into being moments of unfathomable wonder and curiosity. And they are delightful aren’t they? If Synchronicity comes to me, I find she does so through a presence in the material realm, normally in the form of a person or an object…a little like our chance meeting on WP 🙂 Thank you.

Enjoy your short vacation. Take care.

      2. I think to get those stats I’d probably have to go back through the calendar on Fitbit and record the total for each week…. so for now the answer is “I don’t know!”

I don’t doubt for a moment your ailments ever really hold you back.

      4. Hey Karuna,

Why thank you, that is most kind 🙂 I am quite impressed by that total. It is a healthy figure, yet falls woefully short of your achievement, but every step gets me closer to catching up with you. Did you check your stats yet?

I have just been viewing your delightful post titled, ‘White Flowers of Peace’. The sentiment is beautifully complimented by a wonderful array of flowers…lovely photographs. I have my favourite 🙂

Hoping all is well. How is your trip going?

        Enjoy a bountiful weekend.

      5. Hey Karuna,

Very pleased to hear all is well…you will write and blog more of your experience I hope? 🙂

Thank you for the stats…’one weeks worth’ seems fair and comparable. I thought it sounded rather a good/reasonable value…but now I feel a little guilty at the mention that you used to do ‘a lot’ more! How you inspire 🙂

        Take care
