Being
What does it even mean to BE,
free?
Doing, doing never done,
run.
That is all I’ve ever known,
moan.
Body, mind, and soul yearn to rest,
quest.
That new goal must be addressed,
professed.
Heart caught within the mind’s net,
reset.

Love it! Great way to express our slavery to existence and the heart’s yearning to break from its submission to the mind’s constant lashing! I tell ya, I feel like “mush” is my middle name and I’m running for everyone but myself most times.

I think you are going to like this week’s prompt… or at least relate to it. I will post it on Wednesday morning. 🙂

Bravo!! what a lovely poem, Karuna…it is not an easy form and this one not only flows but relates so well to striving “to be”. I really enjoyed this.

Thanks. It was a fun one to do. I feel like such a novice with poetry, but that’s okay.

I did too when I first started…I wrote many narratives a few years before writing poetry.
