Weekly Photo Challenge: It’s Not This Time of Year Without…..

One of the reasons I go to Amritapuri at this time of year is because I love to be involved in the Christmas musical that is performed on Christmas Eve. During the first three weeks in December, the final touches are made to the script; actors are chosen and learn their lines; musicians and singers learn their songs; costumes, back drops and props are made; sound and lighting are planned for, etc. The list could go on and on. Simultaneously, there are rehearsals occurring all over the ashram.

Here are some photos, taken by various photographers, from last year’s Christmas play. I think they will give you a sense of why I love being part of the process so much. (Click on the gallery to enlarge the photos.)

  1. I look forward to hearing about it all through your blog, Karuna. It was truly wonderful seeing Amma in San Jose, but I was sad not to be able to come this year and to be part of the support for the play. I can live vicariously through you. Thanks so much. Love, Karen Sumati

    1. I got my SIM card today. Hopefully will have internet connection soon. I’ve written some posts but need the connection in order to finish them. Hopefully tomorrow or the next day.

      1. WoW! That is so cool!!! I asked for a late token to give others a chance and I thought I might have napped a bit but did not. I passed around 5AM. My token was A ZZZ. I slept a total of 2hiurs in 2 days. My flight wa stinky 7pm to Vancouver with a stopover of 2.20 hrs. Good thing because I wanted to eat AND I have to go through security AGAIN because there is no staff for the evening shift and we can go outside. Silly system. The security in San Jose got me frustrated. I wrote a draft to vent. May not post it. On the cool side, while waiting for the flight at San Jose, I met a woman who was flying home to Vancouver after her first retreat. We both had stayed up all night so we could talk silly. Thank you,Amma, for sending me some comic relief 🙂
