My daughter sent me a YouTube link this morning and I was profoundly moved by what I saw and heard. It felt so strange to want to clap, yet have sadness and tears be my primary reaction. This was recorded during the 8th Annual Brave New Voices International Youth Poetry Slam Festival in September of 2015.
After watching this video a Sanskrit chant came to mind, so I will end this post with that prayer.
Lokah Samastha Sukhino Bhavantu
May all beings in the world be happy.
Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti
Peace, Peace, Peace
Peace!

To say this video represents the very ideology of all the Muslims will be seriously hilarious. But then there’s always a hope. 🙂

I doubt that even they would say it represents the views of ALL Muslims, unless you consider the extremists not to be Muslim.

I would have rather appreciated had they made a play to cite out the reasons for the bigotry, for the views that people have against them or their religion instead of lamenting at the atrocities they face or had tried understanding as to why the people turned against them. And lemme make sure when I say this that I’m not against anyone. People in the world are expected to live in peace and when this basic principle is jeopardised by views from a particular religion stamping authority on others, then I’m sad to say that that gonna create ruckus among the general population.
