Watching the Hummingbird

During the last week, the bee balm flowers in front of my house bloomed.

This morning, I stood looking out of my living room window and watched a hummingbird gathering nectar from the flowers.

The bird moved so fast.

At one point, it flew to the window where I was standing and for a few seconds looked at me! In that moment, the hummingbird seemed huge. Before I knew it, it was gone, leaving me with the memory of a special experience.

  1. I adore my Hummers and yesterday as I worked under a big Rhoddy tucked away out of view, several truly came in to simply buzz around me,I’m sure to say hello.👏😊❤️🐰

  2. AH I am so happy you got to see that.

I am also feeling sorry for myself as in my new digs (living in a different part of my house) I rarely get to see them. That, and my camera is missing and has been for weeks. Doesn’t look like it was accidentally buried in the mass of items packed for the move as I am down to the last boxes and bags of stuff and still no sign of it! Sigh. I LOVED that funky little camera!!!

Anyway, enjoy your Hummers. They are truly an amazing bird!!

    1. I hope you are able to find the camera. I’ve imagined that your living room would still be common property, meaning everyone uses it, even though you’ve moved to another part of the house. Is that wrong? Now that I think about you downsizing your collections I’m thinking the living room isn’t yours anymore.
