When I remodeled my house in the mid 80’s, the kitchen windows were boarded up for three months. The day the boards were taken down, I was treated to a view that was breathtaking. While the tree is much bigger now, I feel as moved by what I am seeing from my kitchen window today as I did on that day in the 80’s. (In the 80’s it reached this stage mid April. Due to the warm winter, it is in full bloom on March 9.)
I’ve shared pictures of this tree several times lately but here is a collage of the progression between February 20 and today.
Aha! So that is the view you told me about. Isn’t it just magnificent?

I love trees that lose their leaves and are all flowers! 😊. I sit at my kitchen window with my morning cup of tea looking into my tropical garden. I have palms and camphor laurels. It is all very green.
Your lovely pink flowers would certainly make my day.

Washington State has a good mixture of evergreen trees (our state nickname is “The Evergreen State”) and trees that lose their leaves. It is nice to have both! I love this time of year when there are pink, white and yellows tree or bush blossoms everywhere.

These photographs sure pull me once again towards the Northwest! I love the view from your kitchen window. It invites for one of my favorite meditations…. dishwashing 🙂
