Weekly Photo Challenge: Scale
Responding to this week’s photo challenge was easy. This is a picture of the 10.4 pound squash that grew in my garden last summer. It was so much fun to watch it get bigger and bigger; and the meals it provided were delicious!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Depth
I set off on a walk to search for “Depth.” I took pictures of a winding road that could be “Depth,” but then felt drawn to look over the side of a hill. That view was “Depth” to me!
As I reviewed the photo, I became intrigued by two objects that were in the center. What were they? I went back to the hill to look closer.
What was a fire hydrant doing in the middle of the woods? And what was the yellow circular object?
As I write this post, I’m wondering if there are also one or more objects just to the right of the fire hydrant. “Depth” had led to a mystery. Maybe sometime I will crawl down that hill and take a closer look!

Burning Down the House
One of the first things I saw this morning was the Word Press Daily Prompt entitled Burning Down the House.
The writing directions were:
Your home is on fire. Grab five items (assume all people and animals are safe). What did you grab?
Five items instantly popped into my head. I’ve continued to ponder that question throughout the day and my answer has not changed. Even though I believe I could walk away from any of my belongings, these are the five that came to mind.

I couldn’t take my own picture of this since my camera is on the phone!

Years ago I made each of my children an album containing pictures from throughout their life. They both live in India now and the albums would not fare well in the heat there so I am storing them at my house in Seattle.

January 2015 in Seattle
While the Northeastern part of the U.S. is bracing for major winter storms, the Pacific Northwest is experiencing record heat. I visited Seward Park in Seattle today and the beauty around me was stunning.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Express Yourself
These are the treasured photos that come to mind when I think of the phrase “Express Yourself.”
This post was written for the Weekly Photo Challenge: Express Yourself
Challenge directions:
Today, we challenge you to show us what “express yourself” means to you. It could be the delightful, gummy grin of a baby grand-nephew, a message of love written with a biplane in the sky, the clenched fist of anger and frustration, or even a lunch with an attitude. This topic is wide-open and I can’t wait to see what you do with it. Have fun!
