Living and learning that is our task
Each encounter, removing the masks
There are no shortcuts, no easy way
To live life’s journey, day after day
Instruction manual? That would be nice
Not possible? Then here’s some advice
Gripping your plans with hands of steel
Gives pain, misery, endless ordeals
Open your hand, the path to reveal
As I wrote the acrostic, I remembered a poem that I have loved for decades. The author is unknown.
I asked God for strength that I might achieve.
I was made weak that I might learn humbly to obey.I asked for health that I might do greater things.
I was given infirmity that I might do better things.I asked for riches that I might be happy.
I was given poverty that I might be wise.I asked for power that I might have the praise of men.
I was given weakness that I might feel the need of God.I asked for all things that I might enjoy life.
I was given life that I might enjoy all things.I got nothing that I asked for, but everything I hoped for.
Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered.I am, among all men, most richly blessed.
Written for this week’s Dungeon Prompt.

Beautiful, Karuna! I haven’t seen the prompt for this week yet, but I’m definitely intrigued that it inspired this post.

This was for the prompt that ends tonight. I don’t know what tomorrow’s will be either.
I had written a different post but it never felt right to publish so I started over yesterday.

Oooh… Okay. I thought you got an early jump on it. haha. I was just going through my email wondering why I didn’t get the notification from Sreejit. It’s been a looong couple of weeks with far too little sleep. I need to just go ahead and put my brain on time out! Okay… until tomorrow it is, then!

Excellent poem for Letting Go. It’s like your blog theme song.
