Every time I walk a block or two from my house, I see things I haven’t seen before. That could be because I haven’t noticed it in the past, or because it has reached another phase of its life cycle.

Every time I walk a block or two from my house, I see things I haven’t seen before. That could be because I haven’t noticed it in the past, or because it has reached another phase of its life cycle.

Imagine my surprise when I received an email on my Android yesterday saying “Congratulations on earning your India badge!” At the time I was in the Seattle airport ready to board a plane to Toronto, where I would be attending the last programs on Amma‘s North American summer tour.
What India badge? The message made no sense to me and I couldn’t imagine what the badge was. When I took a look, I discovered it was acknowledgment from Fitbit, makers of a device I wear that, among other things, counts the steps I take. What a fun synchronicity that the badge would be about India, one of the places I consider to be Home!
I decided to do something different today. I would take a walk, let my feet go where they wanted to go, but carry my Android in my hand. I would take a picture whenever I felt led to do so. In my mind was a song I wrote many years ago, but this time the words were “Good morning to you, good morning to you, good morning, good morning, good morning, good morning, good morning, good morning, good morning to you.” I sang that song throughout my half hour, six-block walk. Here are the results of my experiment! (You can click one of the pictures to make it bigger or turn it into a slideshow.)

As I looked down the street, my vision became more and more tunneled. I had the sense I was entering a long walkway covered on the sides and above by flowering trees. Continue reading “My Spirit Led Journey”
